@sidra: you can create a new file then press B button (Brush tool, next simply right-click on your new file the box of brush will appear so that you can choose which brush you want.

Another trick is to create multiple layers of the same brush in different colors and erase away on the top layer :)…those are my personal tricks
In order to achieve the look above (or similar) use a regular soft brush and paint on a layer above the smoke/flames w/multiple colors…and set the blending mode to overlay

You unzip the folder, right click on the folder and select cut. Then you go to you click on local disk to the location where you downloaded Gimp.Select the gimp folder Then you go to the brushes folder then right click and select paste.

Hi, I am new to this venue of artwork but have become very interested and excited very quickly. I downloaded and am using Gimp 2.6 right now to get used to this type of software before buying photoshop at some point but am such a newbie that I need to ask HOW do I use the fire brushes that you created here. It is linked from idrawgirls.com as a free download that works with Gimp but when I unzip the file there is no executable. Can you please tell me how to associate this program so that I can use it with Gimp? Thank you so much for this! It’s people like you that make this so exciting. Especially for new people like me. Man, I’m having a problem getting the brushes to work. I’ve tried to load them in Photoshop 6 AND 7, and keep getting a message that these brushes won’t work with either of these. What is this software set-up for?

It dose look like the smoke set, but there different and i checked the author original sites and he has it the same so… I guess we can call it as we wish 🙂
